Tas Yo̠l Kez (/tas/ /jo̠l/ [medium] [wine]) is a subtropical Town located in Rǐlnimizkæ Zone, Vrōzftor Diocese, within the Covenent of Irus.

The name Tas Yo̠l Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Tas Yo̠l Kez was founded by Claribel Ghosegrael, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Tas Yo̠l Kez has a yearly average temperature of 33°C (91°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 38°C (100°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 29°C (84°F). Overview

Tas Yo̠l Kez was founded durring the late 12th century in spring of the year 1076, by Claribel Ghosegrael. The establishment of Tas Yo̠l Kez was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Claribel Ghosegrael electing to pay people to resettle in Tas Yo̠l Kez.

Tas Yo̠l Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tas Yo̠l Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Tas Yo̠l Kez is is constructed arround a semi-circular restrictive baked earthen mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. The town's would-be-castle fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Tas Yo̠l Kez has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine with the abundance of schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Tas Yo̠l Kez long.

Tas Yo̠l Kez possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Tas Yo̠l Kez has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Tas Yo̠l Kez has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Tas Yo̠l Kez's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is short in Tas Yo̠l Kez.

The Boar near Tas Yo̠l Kez are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Tas Yo̠l Kez's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves sacrificing an animal to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via throat singing.

Tas Yo̠l Kez's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Tas Yo̠l Kez was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Tas Yo̠l Kez. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Tas Yo̠l Kez lost 122 people, 113 livestock, and 42 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 46, when members of Tas Yo̠l Kez's militia enacted an operation to defend a particular irregulars group from enemy attack. The operation was complicated by a key segment of the operation that deepened entirely on a stealth mission going perfectly. The conflict ended with the defense of the fortification against a siege, which ended in defeat for Tas Yo̠l Kez's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Tas Yo̠l Kez's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
